65 Coupe front disc brakes
« on: April 03, 2018, 07:38:31 pm »
Hi
Looking at replacing my 65 coupe drum front brakes with discs and wondering if any early Australian Ford front discs will suit from an XA,XB Coupe etc?
I have 15 inch rims and tyres that were on the car when I bought it so not sure if they are original or what spindles it has.

Any thoughts?

I'd start by checking the spindles have the right code on them.

There seems to be a few cars lately with different spindles fitted.

No you cant do that without bending the steering arms to correct bump steer on a pre 67 car. have a look on EBay for some kits made by UPC in Melbounre, they will bolt to a mustang axle, and they make a kit that uses 300mm BA falcon rotors and dual piston PBR calipers everything is new comes with hoses etc. Retail about $1k but you can often get the kit on ebay for about $600 if you are lucky. UPC make the Spool diffs and other items for Romac.

Just be sure to hold onto the Spindle nuts and washers as they do not come with the kit

and yes, I'm speaking from experience     :tissue:
