Replacing Exhaust System - Recommendations needed
« on: April 28, 2017, 03:28:37 pm »
Hi,
I will be replacing my exhaust system on my 69 351. Will be a 2 1/4" plain steel system. Could I have some recommendations for someone in the Sutherland/Engadine NSW area.
Also an idea of what I should pay. I will supply the tips.  Has Iron manifolds and want single mufflers.
Happy for suggestions on the system.
Thanks, Mal.

How come you want plain steel and not stainless?

Kirrawee exhaust is someone I can recommend, they have always been helpful with myself.

In a year or two I want to do a few tweeks to the engine including extractors. Will probably revist then. Plain is cheaper on the current budget. Regards

I'd do the exhaust you need now for the engine coming down the track, at least 2.5" stainless.

Atleast get Aluminiorised steel tube. Mandrel bent is better as well.

Hey mate, before you go paying to much locally either, have a look here.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Performance-Exhaust-Crossmember-Back-67-70-Mustang-2-50-w-Tru-X-5816-/381792486991?fits=Year%3A1969%7CModel%3AMustang&hash=item58e49b064f:g:3MQAAOSwLnBX7Txi&vxp=mtr

A header back 2.5 magnaflow with x pipe for around 850 aud delivered is pretty hard to pass up. You'll pay much more for less quality here.

Finally got around to getting the exhaust fitted. Kirrawee Mufflers did a great job. Really nice guys and it sounds great. Thanks for the recommendation.
