Passenger side mirrors were made law in the 80's; if I'm correct, 1981. Many Aus. cars of the 70's only have driver's side mirror.

Yes. For some bizarre reason the passenger side mirror was a 'manual adjust' (ie. have to wind down the window), whereas the driver's side was remote - back to front IMO!
On my '67s I just fitted another remote type to the passenger side as it's reversible; just had to cut the corresponding hole in the door card - mirror it to the LH side - and I also had to trim back some metal immediately behind it. Not concours but suits my purposes. The C pillar creates a bad blind spot when car LHD which the mirror does alleviate some.

K code mate, 289 4V

Nice fastback. Rare car one of only 200 67 Fastbacks made. What's the history of it?

I got a fair bit of documentation with the car. I haven't had a chance to go through it properly.
The car had a bare metal restoration in 2002. It looks to of been a very good body to start with.
The car came to Queensland in 2008 & then to Perth in 2009

The car was originally sold on the day I was born, bit of a omen there maybe

Delivered in New Mexico. If it spent it's life there until 2008 the body would've held up better than most.

Great car.

IIRC there were only 489? K code 289 (non-Shelby) Mustangs built in '67. How many of those were spread across each of the three body styles I don't know, but I guess Raven does!
Supposedly the K code sales , which had been good in '66, were hurt in '67 by the new availability of the big block S code in the Mustang, which worked out cheaper than the K code 289 due to the latter being tied in with mandatory 'options' that made it the more expensive.
So you have a limited edition Mustang!

Shelby had the right idea in 65, I could use one of these on the passenger side but it's only a bother when exiting freeways or Y-junctions.

Yes, was installed in the RH of the two largest binnacles in the instrument panel and the other gauges/lights shuffled around to suit, and different wiring loom.
Google it and you'll see what they look like. Not a common option so not easy to find a good original 2nd hand therefore expect to pay $$$. However, I believe repro '67/68 tacho kits have now become available in the USA.

Are you saying not all 67's have a tacho in the dash? What is in the bezels of the ones that don't?

I suspect most '67/68s didn't have the tacho option. Few cars I've seen had one, neither of mine did.
IIRC when the tacho is fitted the two small gauges are replaced with warning lights.
Not 100% certain - I don't have my reference material at hand - but I think the tacho was a separate option in itself.
