HI GUYS - I FOUND THAT JUST TO REMOVE THESE TO REPLACE THE MAIN WINDOW RUNNERS + SEALS - WAS A CHALLENGING TASK EVEN FOR AN OLD BOEING ENGINEER !
THE MAIN PROBLEM IS TO HAVE TO USE FORCE TO GET THE VENT WINDOW ASSY OVER THE HORIZONTAL THREADED ADJUSTER STUDS . SAME WHEN REFITTING . ONCE THE VENT IS ON THE BENCH - TO REPLACE THE RUNNER + SEALS IS EASY.
BUT AS THE MAN SAYS - RE ALIGNING IT ALL IS NOT TOO EASY - FORD PROBABLY USED A JIG FOR THIS .
MY LEFT VENT IS NOW NOT AS CORRECTLY ALIGNED THE SAME AS MY RIGHT ONE ! WILL HAVE TO REDO IT ALL AGAIN.
MAIN THING THAT I FIND STRANGE IS THE FACT THAT THE VENT WINDOW FRAME CONTROLS THE LOCATION OF THE MAIN WINDOW ? YES I MARKED THE ORIGINAL LOCATION - THAT DOES NOT HELP IF THE GUY BEFORE YOU HAD IT ALL WRONG !
AND THE REAR OF THE MAIN WINDOW HAS NO RUNNER CHANNEL - WEIRD ENGINEERING .
TIP 1 - BUY ALSO THE SEAL TO SUIT THE FRONT OF THE VENT WINDOW FRAME - P/N 223A32 - PERISHED ON MINE . REPLACE ALL SEALS / RUNNERS.
TIP 2 - DON'T TRY TO USE A 68 FORD FACTORY MANUAL ON A 67 - TOO MANY DIFFERENCES . PROBABLY THE SAME APPLIES TO USING A 66 MANUAL .
