$459 for slide bar. I cant find the 740 here

I could put that on your door step for $410.00 aud at the very most. You need to add shipping on to the one you posted.

Mark, GST is now payable on all imported goods. It's levied on the total of the item value, shipping and insurance.

Pretty sure blanket GST was delayed a year.

Only the "netflix tax" started on July 1st.

Yes, a bit of googling indicates you're right. My mistake.

if you only install the dual speakers under the grill in the dash pad, the sound will be "thin" with not much tone or dynamics.

they have a budget twin speaker and  better kenwood twin speaker which you probably saw.

If you have a coupe, adding speakers to the rear package tray will be a big improvement. A pair of 6" 30 watt ones would be more than enough for your app.

I have a convertible and will get the kick panel speakers locally unless the is a one stop shop.

I looked at those kick panel speakers. The principle is good but the actual speaker looked a bit ordinary to me.

You can buy the panels bare and install your own speakers.

Yeah don't get the speakers they come with. Like I said, I have really good kickers with an amp powering them in the kick panels, and even with that the sound is pretty ordinary there, as there is no acoustic enclosure, and the sound is going towards your feet. So if you are going to have them, make sure the speakers are good. Good 6.5's aren't expensive either.
The rear package tray speakers will be the biggest changer, as barnett already mentioned.

They are compatible with european frequencies. There is a switch on the 230 and 630 and the 740 can be switched over digitally through the tuning controls.  :thumb:

All hooked up and working great. Although so many tuning options to play with. Once I increased the base a little the sound was more than suitable for me. The 740 is a great unit, its about 2/3rds lighter than the original and fitted in perfectly was straight up plug and play to speakers and power. All I needed to find was a constant 12v source to maintain the preset memory. Thank you Barney its a super outcome.

I don't think the dash is supposed to be white on an earlier 65. Be I am happy to be corrected? I think early 65's C codes didn't have a pony option and therefore every photo I have seen with the sweep gauge the dash in the same colour as the doors. Personally I don't like the contrast of the black camera case finish of the gauge cluster and glove box door against a white painted dash so I repainted it satin black. I still might do their kick panels but I think I'll leave the dash.

Sorry correction to the above they did have there pony option but it included upgrade to a 5 grade cluster and wood grain inserts which looks great with a white dash as apposed to the camera case finish on the sweep gauge. I've considered doing that but the sweep gauge has grown on me and provides a real retro look.

The car is not concourse as you have told me on several occasions. I actually think its looks pretty good ATM after doing there doors ands quarters and installing the radio rally PAC

I installed a Retrosound Motor 3 blue tooth in my 65. Put a kicker amp in the boot with a custom removable speaker box I had made , with a sub and 2 x 3 way speakers. Sounds killer and discrete

I reckon the kick panels would look good the green on the doors, it would continue the colour but leave the dash and console black
