dont know who saw it but was watching Top Gear tonight and they showed the new Selby 07 and Roush 07.  Did a test lap...Interesting...  What was more than interesting is the 390 gt that is owned by Richard Hammond.... Nice... They even said it was better than the Selby but not a much power.  Did anyone else watch this.

Cheers

Richard Hammond was happy with his 390 GT until they put it on the dyno and he found out how much power it made.I'd say that it may be up for some "improvements"
The '67 looked and sounded great.

i was gonna post a topic on this show as well :+ whaen they did the dyno runs an the shelby did 450 odd hp as against the claimed 500hp, they said "brake hp .is that rear wheel hp?. because the 67 390 only put out 250hp or somethin like that.

Was that the footage from "the good the bad the ugly"?
The top gear feature on American cars?
Where he drives away in the new gt-40?

It had to be rear wheel hp I thought.
That confused me too because they didn't allow for loss through the drivetrain.
This was a different segment to the good, bad and ugly.
My sons gave me that dvd for Christmas.Didn't they heap !@#$ on American cars.

Would be at the wheels, mine puts out around 230HP at the rear wheels, which would be around the 330HP at the flywheel i was told, which is about right for a 390GT

I have not see the  good the bad and the ugly, 2 thiings that interested me was the Selby and the fact that they measured rear wheel HP and I am not sure the 500 is claimed at the flywheel, 450 is still nothing to laugh at, the roush whilst it did high 400 is still 10 pounds more expensive.  The selby handling I found very interesting, great straight line, hell for corners, even richards 390 took corners better......  the 390, did not hear the fiqure it was producing so I cannot comment, but hell it looked nice...

ok so 450 rwhp ;_ now i can see why evryman an his dog wants one in america. sheet that would make just over 600hp at the flywheel;x one thing that made me laugh tho, the fact that FORD is still exaggerating the numbers again:+

Don't worry it's been on Youtube for months we are a year behind on Topgear. Just search for Topgear you'll find it easy.

I believe the 500 in the original gt500 referred to the number of steps a worker paced out between 2 buildings at shelby workshops and the new shelby GT500 is actually only stated as 475 hp.Not sure if this is the same for the 350 but could be.

:+ I read in Mustang Monthly years ago that it was actually 349 steps to the airplane hanger, and Ol' Shelby said,"make it 350". But you never know these Good Ol' boys with their tall stories.

Xrayman, I know where you're coming from. I work a 24 hr rotating roster in the X-ray Dept. I work in, too. Been a Radiographer for 31 years, now and I can tell you truthfully IT DON'T GET ANY EASIER! Although shifts are better on your health than on call duty is.
Cheers, Ron B
