She's home....
« on: October 01, 2015, 02:34:36 pm »
20 years of dreaming, 10 planning and sourcing, 3 doing (and $pending!)... she's home.

Spin around the block in the full rego fun-mobile... hard to keep the rubber on the road with the OEM tires and torqe-y 390/445 stroker!

A few more final setup/config issues to sort out now that the engine oiling issues are sorted and she's a runner.  Alignment, some brake tweaks and some minor interior/trim and electrical gremlins (oil light is always on in the tach, but pressure is 70 psi....).

But home and driveable!   :smile01: :smile01: :smile01:

Congratulations Richard, a sensational build. Really admire your attention to detail and the desire to go to extra lengths to get it right. Maybe the ultimate '68 coupe? Would love to see some more detailed pics if you ever get the time.  :thumb: :thumb:

Cheers, Andrew

Some happy snaps from post cleaning/waxing today... high sun and a crap camera made it hard to get good pics, but a few close ups to show some of the details... need to have a photographer friend arrange something once I get all the little issues sorted (like the hanging ignition switch, custom!!!  :smile01:)

It kind of is... in the right light.  A ton of fine gold metalflake in the custom green really pops in the right light!  :smile01:

Ron, sorry for the delay... this one slipped past... yes the EXP500 is the Green Hornet.

This is my repli-bute to the car.

Lots of period correct parts, but no IRS as hand fabrication of one would have blown the already ree-diculous budget out even further... maybe some day down the track, but for now a standard 9" with 3.00 Tru-Trac (which was the original ratio in the car, or one of them as it morphed a bit as a experimental car!)

Beautifully recreated, Mert. She's a real credit to your determination. What happened to the original?
