Today's bad news is that I have learned that all 65 disk braked cars ran 15" wheels for clearance.  I have 14's....ahhhhh.  Would the 15" steel wheels be the same as say the 60's Falcons from Australia?  Dollars are adding up!  Might be cheaper to convert back to drums for rego purposes :(

Who told you that. It doesn't sound correct to me. I have bog standard 14" wheels over my front discs.

.
yup 14" stock, however, the disc rims were different and can be identified by a 3 mm hole between the log not holes.

Not sure that is true... many posts elsewhere about KH 4 spots working with OEM 14" wheels...

Most original V8 type14" wheels will fit this conversion. This is the easiest kit to install, and the kit that you should choose if you desire to use your original wheels and/or maintain "originality".

And even from here...

(same kit as above, but locally provided)

Wilwood make a repror that fits 14s too...

Bear in mind that in SA I HAVE to use the standard KH brake system.  The information I got was from CJ Pony Parts but can see that CSRP do say 14's will fit.  Worst case is that I will have to shell out big money for the brake kit then if the wheels dont fit, shell out big money for original style wheels - all to keep SA Reg happy.

I am over this car already!!!!!

.
the 67 wheels had a different design . . the inside of the factory 64-65 disc brake wheels have more clearance for the calipers . . its easy to see when you have them side by side.

I have absolutely no doubt that my 14's will not be these disk brake ones.  Are they an impossible to find item in Australia???

Well I needed a rim for a spare so I got an early Falcon one.
Fits perfect.

the non disc ones will often fit also as was mentioned but sometimes they rub slightly the 67 rims will fit and i dont know if they will notice at inspection or care but no, you will never find them unless you go to maybe gerace restorations in adelaide.

My car has standard Kelsey Hayes 4 pot calipers on it with 14" magnum 500 rims........here in Adelaide. You can come over for a look anytime. I still have the complete drum brake assy I took off to fit them, on a shelf in my shed. Best advice I can give to anyone like yourself is to join your local club, make some new friends and check out all the local guys cars, who better to give you all the advice on local rules and regulations. Remember every state in Australia is different

Based upon the information on this site - http://www.chockostangclassicmustang.com/discbrakefacts.html - for the 65-66 models, the V8 drum and disk spindles are the same. With this in mind, and assuming the information is correct, why do you need V8 spindles?

Thanks for the offer.  I will fit a brake kit and see if I need alternate wheels so may get back to you.  Dept of Red Tape is taking a long time to reply to my email questions and I wont order a kit until after I hear from them.
