The wheels that are coming as standard on the V8 are supposed to be the black 19 inch wheels that are shown in the Australian brochure (not on the front cover but the small pics under the different colour cars) . The Eco boost is also supposed to have black 19 inch wheels that are different in design to the GT wheels. Having the nickel wheels are an option.

Standard gloss black rear are 19.5", front 19", don't know why one would want to choose the option of all 4 x 19"?

According to the brochure they are 19s all around but the rear are 9.5"and the front 9"

Yep, 3 options are nickel wheels, black stripes going over centre of car, or a solid black roof on any colour car.

They were the 3 options confirmed to me last week,

Cheers

Arh realy still in the air about it originally I chose a black Eco bost convertible in a auto but for the same $$ I could get a v8 in a coupe. can't work out what would be the better choice in the long run.

I have gone the V8 in the coupe as I recently had a convertible with a material roof and it took a long time to wash it each time and it was only down rarely if the weather was just right.

Hmm, my understanding is, orders are locked in now and cars are being supplied to orders, in that, you are now not able to change your mind, unless you forfeit what you ordered and go to the back of the order list, with a fresh order, to be supplied mid 2016.

Just on the wheel options - from what I can work out;

  • Standard - 19", black painted alloy with diams of 9" front and 9.5" rear
  • Optional - 19", nickel lustre alloy

Can anyone confirm if the options ones are the same width as the standards (eg 9/9.5)

Had a look at the US site, odd that we are not even close to their sizes

cheers

greg

I actually prefer the standard black rim, thanks for the info fellas.

Likely to wear out the stock rubber, shelve the stock rims, and buy an aftermarket.

Anyone else have any ideas for swapping out for the rims, if so..whats your choices?

Not alot of recent posts on this topic, and the journos aren't reporting any new threads online, I thought i might post a nice interactive Australian website for choosing a new mustang. Enjoy. Also shows the Nickel wheel options.

I just wonder the longevity of all this new Mustang hype. Everyone who wants a new Mustang will have the car delivered by the end of 2016. But what then.... where will the next customer base come from? 2017 could be a lean year for new Mustang sales, but 2018 will be a bonus for the used 2015/16 Mustangs and will be worth 35 to 45% less that what they cost when first delivered. With so many new cars coming into Australia over the next 3 years, buyers will be treated like never before with so many choices.

Classic 60's cars will still be worth what you paid for them, the new cars won't. Just look at the American market what happens to new cars after 3 to 4 years. This includes the Mustang, Camaro, Corvettes, Dodge Chargers etc.

But if you want to blow the best part of $25k and really want the car and can afford it, go ahead.

Thanks for the insight Frank, i sense with comments like that you may be joining the cynical crusty old farts club real soon.

No actual facts there, just your opinion huh. Its a new car for a new market. Im excited and I know others are too. Every new car buyer loses some money, and its the cost of buying a new car, and being the original first owner. Cars do depreciate, and no doubt there will be some owners selling off in a few years. This is not a Commodoore..It's a 2015 /16 RHD Mustang factory built. A Performance Vehicle with so much tech and design. I'll take the gamble, and Im not planning on selling anytime soon.

Probably should keep your negativity to yourself Mr.

Due to the fact that my daily driver is 6L plus a 65 coupe with a 351W will soon be in the garage - we have decided to buy the Ecoboost convertible due to the amount of highway miles we do plus it runs on 91 Ron v the 5.0 which requires 98 Ron.
Where I live the 91 is $1.35 and the 98 $1.75 per litre, which is a strike against the 5.0
The Eco has 230kw, if I remember correctly when the wrx first came out it had 180kw - Eco will have more than enough poke.
I know a bloke who continuously talks down both 2015 models, saying he wouldn't buy one, his missus says he would love one but can't afford it, just trying to ruin others enjoyment in my view.
The argument that someone wouldn't buy the first incarnation of a model, I think is BS - it's been out in the states for a year already, sure as a LHD but that's no biggy.
Ausmustang - had an email from the dealer today saying that the nickle lustre wheels aren't available on the Eco, I'll be sourcing mags locally as the black doesn't suit the Ruby Red the boss has chosen - plenty to choose from, just swap the tyres over.

Cheers

J

You only have to do a search on the USA eBay.com site, under 2015 mustang, there is already a massive amount of after market parts and wheels available for them.

it shouldn't be long before the after market sector here, caters for the new cars coming.
