Sorry guys was MIA for a bit there.  I'll try and wrap up a couple of answers and questions in one.

How would I go about relocating the spring perches?
With regards to the urethane spacers, do they have any detrimental effects?  Would I be better off with springs with less drop?
And finally yes, if you look at my tyres side on they are slightly under the guards, but clear on turn (just).  Which rubber mounts are you referring to on the spring perches?

Cheers.

Jeremy.

there should be rubber anti rattle rubbers on the perches where the spring sits , I would go get some packers for the top of the spring, the thickness of the packer will be the same as how much it will the car.

I wouldn't be relocaing the spring perches. We aren't engineers.
Going by your curent measurements i reckon your car has the shelby drop. That drops it by approx 12mm.
As shaunp has mentioned the spring perches have rubber pads 2-3mm thick fitted to them where the spring sits and locates in the base of perch. The rubber mount on top of spring is readily available from Mustang suppliers.

"do they have detrimental effects" no but it will raise your car up a tad higher for clearance

Pic below shows the rubber pad on botton and rubber mount up top

Opentracker is a proponent of moving perches ... I have no doubt of his engineering abilities.

Thanks for all of the advice guys.  I currently don't have the thin pads on the bottom but have put them on the top as that where they were on springs I took out.  I could take these out and put them on the bottom but as I recall they were quite flat on the top and my spring perch has a stop for the spring on the bottom.  I'll order some polyurethane spacers for the top and be done with it.

Cheers.

You can buy a thicker packer for the top thats what you need.

Top ones https://www.harrysclassicsmustangparts.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1365 / https://www.harrysclassicsmustangparts.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1366 are different to bottom ones https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1964-5-73-Mustang-High-Performance-Coil-Spring-Perch/152344384366?epid=610852016&hash=item23786ed36e:g:ljYAAOSwux5YRPlU see the little rubber pads?
I'm positive you have the shelby drop done according to your height measurements

I've got the top ones, but no little pads on the bottom, though that looks like I could add it easily with a bit of foam tape or similar.  I think I need a bigger bushing as Shaun has mentioned.
Regarding the Shelby drop, what does that entail?

Where the upper control arms bolt to the shock tower, has been lowered.

You can check the shocktowers from inside the engine bay.

Gents,

I've got some spacers from Harry, but I was just thinking is there anything else I should be changing out while I have the springs compressed again?  Lower spring mount bushings?

Thanks.

Jeremy.

I'm pretty sure I put KFFL-0's on my Shelby dropped 65.  The result was an offroad style front stance with a good 2 inches between the tyre and guard.

A few rounds of remove, cut and replace with the springs and I had it at the right level, and higher spring rated as well

I'd be replacing UCAs and spring saddles, and if you like do the Shelby drop.

teacherspet, I like the stance of your vert with the back being higher than the front. :thumb:

Thanks Neil. The car has been lowered a fair bit from when I got it, with 2" lowering blocks in the rear & the lowered springs in the front. The front guards actually sit over the front tyres a fraction & all 4 guards have been rolled. The wheels are 15"x 8" on the rear with 235 T/A's & the fronts are 15"x7" with 225 T/A's. Everything seems to clear OK.

These were the ones recommended by the guy at Kings Springs. The front of the car is pretty stiff when you push down on it, but it also sits real nice. Just a cruiser.
