Its a pretty good shell, Id just repair it then stick it on a Car-aliner and tweak it. You can take the floors out of them no trouble just support the rail extentions with RHS welded across the bottom of the sills.

Hi every one.
I've been looking over the bare shell of my 67 and have come across a bend on the boot floor on the left side. On inspection I think it should be straight like the right hand side.
All the rear rails are straight and in really good condition and the actual wheel well looks good.
I know the rear qtrs. have had some damage and need replacing but I thought the boot floor looked good.
Any ideas???

Any chance that trunk area has been replaced previously and the bend has happened when putting it in there, have gone through my pics and attached the best I could find from mine in that area, although looking at it again, the shadows make it look deceiving, the bend does go up past what appears to be a join.....

Sean67, yours seems to have a similar bend as well. I'll go and check my '68 and see if it has it. Back soon.

Are we looking at the same spot Ron??? mine does appear to have something near the trunk filler left section.... Im looking right up against the wheel arch, Ill find another shot if I can

I'm back. My '68 boot recess, LHS has a bit of a bend about 10-15 cm back from the front (forward) corner, and is about 10 degrees. Hope this helps.

I think this one shows a clear bend but still not sure if its in the same spot we originally talking about

I thought he was referring to the disparity of shape in the fuel tank recess edge. The left has a kick inwards. I could be wrong. My eyes are old and grey.

Yep your right Ron, I thought we were referring to a kink in the actual flat surface of the metal inside the wheel arch, I see exactly what you talking about now, yeah mine has exactly the same, your eyes are still doing well mate

Sean, Yours is same same as mine. Look at your green pic at the edge of the tank recess, at the front and there is a slight bend inwards. That is what I thought Craig was referring to.

Hey guys thanks for the updates earlier today, I don't think the picture was very clear so I have added a line around the raised section on the floor pan.
It looks so symmetrical I appears as if it should be there but I think it is either a mistake from factory or a bad repair. Both ways I think I need to fix it.
 Thinking off the wall here and I know I have only just started this project but maybe a mini tub kit would fix it?

I am currently in the planning stage so anything goes at the moment.

Have a look at the drawn on picture and tell me what you think.

ahhh yeah mate that is what I originally thought you were talking about, mine is definitely flat as you can see in the pics, back to my original thoughts that it might be from a repair, the seams around where the petrol tank sits seems to much more visible on yours, regardless I think there are others here more qualified to let you know what the effort of that might be or if it really needs to be fixed

Hi all. It's been a few weeks since I last posted anything and I have progressed a little. I have built a rolling jig and mounted the shell onto it with the view to completing the major body work on it. I the propose to transfer it onto a rotisserie to finish the body. I have cut the floor pan out and it is all prepped to be welded into place over the Australia day weekend. The plan then is to support the shell some more under the A pillars to prevent any sag and cut out the dash, firewall and aprons to convert it to RHD and prep it for a fully independent suspension.
I'll post a few pictures over the next few days as I get around to getting them off the camera.
Quick Note.......Plasma cutters are awesome!!!!

This is the floor pan we purchased from Sydney Mustangs. A great quality reproduction part. Metal guage was great and the fit is pretty good as well. We only encountered on place that will need a little adjustment just in front of the right rear wheel. It didn't quite match the shape required but easily repaired.

I've had a busy weekend so far with the final weld down of my new floor pan and the removal of my firewall, upper & lower cowl and the dash in preparation for a RHD conversion.
