The service for David Francis
« on: August 11, 2014, 05:58:42 am »
For those of you who are wishing to attend the service for the Late David Francis at Palmdale Lawn Cemetry on this coming  Wednesday 13th August, and are wanting to drive up together, a group of us will be meeting at Thornleigh Mcdonalds from 8.30 am for a departure around the 9am mark.
You are very welcome to  bring your Mustang if you wish.

We have tried to reserve a section of the car park at Mingara for those attending after the service. Unfortunately they won't section off an area for us, but it is a large car park, and should be quiet at the time so parking together and avoiding cars being doored by others should be fine.

Al, I emailed the club days ago seeking direction be emailed to the members, re use of CRS vehicles. Noone has replied to that. I think it'd be great if you could address that for those of MOCA on CRS vehicles. I'm sure there'd be a few, at the very least.

It's actually in the rules that those on Club Plate registration have read and understand.

For those who do not quite get it, Clause 24 of the RULES covers this situation:

24.   Vehicles may be used on a road or road related areas for:
a)   Events listed under ‘coming events’ in the Club magazine, or ‘coming events’ on the Club website, or notified via official correspondence from the Committee.

An email has been sent to all members from a Committee member (myself) on behalf of the President encouraging members to come in club attire and in the Mustang if they so wish.

It's a fair question, Phil. Don't think it really requires the narky response. I asked that it be clarified it for members, who may not be sure.

ENOUGH ALREADY!

This is a thread relating to the passing of a Club legend, not an arena for political mudslinging.

Show some respect.

I have just been notified that the Mustangs will be allowed to park along the driveways leading up to the chapel with room left for an uninterrupted passage for the hearse. Please follow the instructions given by the attendant .
For those going to Mingara afterwards and don't know where to go.
As you leave the service and pass under the freeway turn left at the roundabout and proceed until you meet the large roundabout at Tuggerah where you turn right as if going to The Entrance.
Mingara will appear on your right between the 7th and 8th roundabout.turn right at the 8th with McDonalds and a BP servo on the corners and follow the road in. Plenty of parking down past the main club entrance. Trip time aprox 15minutes.

That's a really nice club, Mingara. Thanks for your organisation and posting it, Norm.

A sad day but a terrific turn up of more than 60 Mustangs and 300-400 people was a true testament to the character of the man.

Fantastic to hear of so many members taking their Mustangs along to David's funeral, over 400 attendees, goes to show the popularity of the man. Certainly won't be easy to replace, both in life and as a club member.

A beautiful service and farewell to a true friend and gentleman.  He will be sorely missed by so many whose lives he touched, as was shown by the many people there today.

Norm, your friendship meant the world to David as did so many others. He was such a beautiful man and  was taken from us way too soon.
I just feel so privelidged to have worked alongside him on the committee of this wonderful club for the last 12months. A true gentleman.

Agreed, Al. He was the most stand up man this club has ever seen.
