WTB: 65 or 66 Fastback Mustang
« on: May 04, 2014, 12:45:24 pm »
I am looking for a 65 or 66 fastback that meets the following criteria:

1)   A code (289 engine, not a 351 or stroker etc)
2)   3 or 4 speed manual
3)   Pony interior
4)   Original colour (that is, the colour the car was painted in the factory)
5)   The vehicle should be fairly stock (although minor modifications such as headers, dual exhaust, aluminium intake manifold, front disc brakes are acceptable).
6)   Addition of fog lights, trumpet exhausts, styled steel wheels and rallye pac would also be acceptable and desirable.
7)   With or without power steering is fine.
8)   With or without air-conditioning is fine.
9)   No speaker holes or speakers in the rear panels.
10)   No cuts in the dash for an aftermarket radio.

The paintwork and body should be in very good to excellent condition.  I am not looking for a concourse example but a vehicle that is in very good to excellent overall condition requiring little work.  Of course, I might need to compromise on some of my requirements.

Thanks.

'fairly stock' = left hand drive.

In terms of budget, please send me a PM if interested.

Hey mate,

I may have what you're looking for - original 289 with 4spd manual, Wimbledon white - good driving condition - however, it's got blue stripes and shelby wheels to make it look like a mocked up GT350.

Shoot me your price range - it may be for sale in the next few months.

There is an A code fastback that ticks just about all the items on your list in the ACT.
A code, orig colour, 4sp manual, ac, pony interior, rally Pac, 289.
Let me know if you want the owners details.

Think so.  You have seen it a few times.  Think the colour is called silver smoke with a 65 red pony interior.  A/C, 4speed, rally Pac, 289, dual exhaust.....   very tidy.
