New Member - 65 Fastback - NSW
« on: January 28, 2014, 12:15:51 pm »
Hi guys,

I thought it was time to properly introduce myself. Name is Charlie, recently bought a 65 Fastback. I found out the car was listed for sale here as well after I bought it.

The car came from Brisbane, previous owner put alot of time and effort into a full restoration. It is a beautiful car and a joy to drive.

I have always loved my Mustangs so it is good to finally get into one.

I already have had it blue slipped and registered in NSW. Put some personalised plates on it, added a Custom Autosound USA-66 stereo, and some security stuff.

Don't want to touch it other than that, love the look of the classic old school wheels. The engine is a 289 with extractors and 4 barrell carby. Other than that the car is stock with a classic 3 speed manual, and LHD.

She doesn't have a name yet. :)

Welcome Charlie, sweet ride, looks great. All I can say is,start enjoying it. If your free? This sat night there is a meet up @ 7pm @ Parramatta Pool car park. Mystery cruise. On arrival you find out where we cruise to. It's always a good turnout.

Cheers
John

Thanks guys, definitely going to come to some meets. I was hoping to be able to make the Kellyville on Sunday morning. Saturday night might be hard but i'll see what I can do. Are these mystery cruises normally an all night thing?

welcome Charlie , looks like a nice ride hope you get plenty of enjoyable driving miles out of it .
Question though and this not just for you , why is it that we make them female and give em a name ? i am not being a s arse or anything.  i just always wondered why we do it .
cheers shane
Its funny how quick kids learn to drive a car, yet fail to understand a lawnmower.

Depends where the cruise destination ends up. If you tag along it will be an all nighter around 10pm.
What area you from?

Not at all, you can drop out any time, some people just turn up early for the round up at the car park, have a bit of a chat then go home, lol.

G'day Charlie and welcome to the forums, beautiful looking fastback there mate.
Not all at night, there is also Big Al`s mystery breakfast runs organised through NSW MOCA, next one I believe is either mid Feb or mid March

Cheers

No idea mate, I mentioned it because I was expecting people to ask what I named her. I think it may have to do with the fact that we treat our cars better than we treat our women, some people call them our mistress.

Depends where the cruise destination ends up. If you tag along it will be an all nighter around 10pm.

I am from the West, not far from Big Al's (sorry if I am a little vague, I am always cautious about posting too much info on the net).

Thanks Stephen, that might sound like a better option for me, I did have something on Saturday night but would be nice to come for the round up and then leave when everyone heads off for the cruise.

Hopefully I can make either Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Thanks guys.

I actually came out to the Kellyville Cars and Coffee in Feb. and haven't had a chance since to go to anything else.

Hopefully I can meet some more of you soon.
