My 66 GT Convertible rebuild
« on: June 24, 2020, 09:26:29 pm »
I bought my 66 GT in 2009 and at the time it looked very straight and in excellent restored shape. After about 5 years a small hole started to open up in a frame rail so I took it in to be repaired. At this point we discovered that the car had rust that I wasn't expecting and it appears that the restoration that was done in the US was only done on what you could see. So the car waited another 5 years before it was ready for a full repair and restoration that was done by Image Classic Cars in Adelaide. They did an excellent job making the car look perfect with all rust removed. New floor, frame rails and doors. I got it back a couple of months ago and it is now sitting back in my garage as in the last pic. Looking forward to summer.

Cheers Phil.

Thanks I recently had the centre column and arches knocked out for a single panel door which makes everything look bigger
