Water coming in thru vents
« on: May 20, 2013, 10:57:03 pm »
Gday fellas,
Gave my 67 coupe windscreen a squirt the other day and when I hopped back in I noticed water drippin on my left foot... I saw somewhere about a drain blocking up??? Also does the vent have a seal. Im guessing its a dash out job which ever way I go??
Cheers Bruce

You'll propably find the lower plenum is rusted out, very common. Depending on how bad it is depends on the repair. May just need plastic repair sleeves, or may need the entire upper and lower plenum removed and replaced which is major work.

A big job if rusted out as the top panel is fixed and can not be removed like later models .Go buy yourself a plastic cover that sits over the grill section to stop water going in and down .You can buy it from most mustang parts shops .

Easy to buy i think ,very easy to fit and remove ,or keep off till you wash or have to drive in the rain . Its only a piece of perspex and a rubber seal with a couple of clamps that go through the grill . To easy .
