Hey all, it has been a while since my last update. The car is now moving ahead at a fast pace... but we needed to do some more extensive panel work to get everything perfect on the rear end. I am hoping to have it painted by October and assembly later this year.  Big thanks to Vince @ AutoPassion for working his magic over the last 2 weeks

Yep, can't wait to have it finished. Its been over 3 years since I started which is a long time not being behind the wheel. Everything has been test fitted on the car so it should be a quick assembly once paint is finished. :-) I really want it back on the road in 2016 for its 50th year.

Hi All,

As I await for the car to be painted I'm trying to plan out the final assembly so it goes as quickly and smoothly as possible. Taking the car apart was simple enough... but reassembly may be a little more delicate.  I have all the mechanical and electrical sorted, but need assistance with the fiddly things. I'm based in the south east suburbs of Melbourne and would love any advice regarding the below items.

1) Polishing of all stainless trim
2) Re-installation of stainless trim on side windows
3) Installation and alignment of side windows
4) Installation and corking of both front and rear windscreens
5) Installation of stainless trim around windscreens and roof channel

Does anyone know of a reputable place that can complete the above items? I would hate to attempt these and damage the paint or not seal things properly.

On the flip side, who has completed this and how hard did you find it. Who you do it again or outsource to an expert?

Thanks in advance!

Rob

For the front and rear screens I'd highly recommend Pete from Pete's Prestige Windscreens 0418 333 703 Does really good work and deals with a lot of classics.

@On_Psi,  thanks for the comments! :thumb:

The car is still at Auto Passion betting prepared for final paint. You can see the full blog/history on my website here www.boostedford.com.

This final stage is taking the longest, but i'm sure it'll be worthwhile. Right now, they're finishing off the gaps and are aiming to have it finished by late December so that I can start assembly over my Christmas break.

 :burnout:

I have recently ordered a pair of custom door cards from TMI (Sport-R full door) and they'll be using the same blue thread as used in the rest of my interior. I should receive them soon :-) I am also working on a custom rocker cover for the Barra motor which will look AWESOME!

Woohoo!

If your car is the one I think it is ... I'd love to see a build thread somewhere :evilone:

I like the top grill panel you made, I'd like to get something similar made also.

They're on fleabay for $85.  Search for "66 mustang fill in panel"

He must have sold it, as he had an ad up last night.

He makes them, so there will probably be another one listed soon.
