« on: March 29, 2013, 02:19:14 pm »
I have 65 convertible v8 d-code that I have fitted as close to possible original air conditioning with yorke compressor & under dash evaporator unit.Have had continuing problems with leaking compressor & have bitten the bullet & fitted a new compressor. My problem currently is bad vibration thru vehicle with air conditioning on.Have tried different amounts of R134 & different belt tensions but still have the problem.Has anybody else had this problem & have you been able to overcome it.I currently have the new compressor out & back to the supplier to be tested but have no anser yet
thanks steve i

You might find that the belt is causing the problem. The early engines had a modification with an extra tensioner added to it as in the later models.

The extra idler will assist but York compressors are common for vibration.
The later Australian fitted ones (Falcon) had a big inertia weight mounted on the rear of the clutch assy.
It didn't resolve the problem altogether but it did improve it.
