With the last post button on the right hand side, is it possible to make it work as 'last unread post'? So instead of going to the very end of the thread, it goes to where you had last seen. This saves having to scroll back through all the lastest posts to find where you were last up to.

I don't know about others, but I find that much more convenient.

If you can't see this , there is a small white arrow in the uppermost right hand corner of the page, click that!

No. When you click on that, it takes you to a menu. On the right hand side of the next page is this. This is the last post button.

Cheers I see that but it doesnt make any menus come up.  It only makes my photo and a few options disappear/re-appear.

Is there a button to click showing threads you have posted into?

If you only want to see your own posts.

Click on your profile then click on show posts from the left menu.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the Duct Tape.

Sorry, Peter. That's not what I mean.

I'll give an example, a good one I can think of is Shermatt's Florida finds.

Often Matt will make 3-4 posts at a time with say 10 photos on each post. I come back to the computer and hit the 'show unread posts since last visit' button at the top left of the screen. This takes you to a list of the threads that have new posts.

If you click on the 'last post' button, the little page with the turned corner and arrow pointing right, the one I illustrated on post 4 of this thread, it will take you to the Florida finds thread and take you to the very last post.

BUT

There are more posts that Matt has made before this last one. As I said before, he often post 3-4 times at once. So there may be another 2-3 posts that I haven't seen before the very last one the 'last post' button took me to. Therefore you have to scroll through 30 or more cars before you find the beginning of his new posts.

Another example, say you haven't logged on for a week or even a month, you come back to see what is new. You see someone's build thread has been busy, hit the last post button and it takes you to the very last post. But there are 5 pages of posts you haven't seen. Other forums when you hit the last post button, it will take you to the point where you have last logged in, so at the beginning of the new 5 pages you have not read, not at the very end of the thread.
The way it is now means you have to read or skim through backwards for 5 pages until you find your last spot.

Know what your talking about Ash.  Alas that feature does not exist in this system like we had on the old system.

The only thing you can do is click on any of the sections/posts which will be highlighted with a

You can also click on the UNREAD POST button that is in the top right corner of each section as shown below or click on the "show unread post since last visit" next to your avatar at the top of screen, but that's about it.

It was one of the sacrifices we had to make to upgrade to the new system

Ah bugger. Oh well. I thought that maybe because the system is able to keep track of the new posts since last visit, that maybe it could track a little more detail.

All good, appreciate the responses  :thumb:
