Plug Leads Shorting on Extrators
« on: December 17, 2012, 10:51:22 pm »
All the leads on my 67/289 clear the extrators well except for No2 which has very little clearance and now seems to be shorting and causing it to miss, can they be made to clear or a different type that will resist the heat and not short

Hurricane leads in geelong make and have sets of leads with 45Deg angle black or extra high temp grey boots.

Agree with a67-p51, get some 45degree boots and you should be OK.
I had the same problem and the 45's have sorted it out for me. :thumb:

I had my leads custom made and have 3 types of boots amongst the eight plugs.

I too had spark shorting on the headers. With the mixture of boot angles we cleared every pipe no probs. The difference it made when I got the custom leads made was massive.
I drove in with a miss, drove out idling like a champion.

I used Performance Ignition services in Nunawading, Victoria.

MSD have a set of adjustable leads.  You can bend them to suit.  They are the super conductors 31199's...
