WTB - 1 1/2" or 2" Fan Spacer - Brisbane
« on: December 15, 2012, 03:32:15 pm »
Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had a spare 2 1/4" fan spacer lying around in the Brisbane/Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast area?

I've just fitted my new 3 row radiator, which is deeper - hence the new fan shroud I have touches the blades at the top. I'm hoping another 1/4" is enough room, otherwise I'll have to do away with the shroud.

Standard 67 289 auto coupe.

If you do, please give me a call.

Cheers,

Coops.

EDIT: measured wrong, it's actually a 3" spacer - how odd.  Shroud is deeper than factory one, so fan blade (edge closest to enginer) sits 1/2" in the shroud, so I'd want to bring it out 1 1/2" inches to get half in/half out.  Front edge of fan is currently 1" away from radiator.

Vic has a 2" spacer but I'm thinking I might need a 1 1/2" - or I go back to Custom Mustangs and see if they have a different shroud.

Thanks Glenn, might check it out - otherwise I'll try to get a shorter shroud.

They've got a 2" or a 1" - I'm thinking I might need 1".  It shouldn't matter if the fan is so far away from the radiator as long as it is half in/half out of the shroud - correct?  Otherwise shroud is useless.
