Hahaha, that's hilarious!

After my last effort at golf, no amount detailing the golf clubs would have helped me. The mass amount of Corona's weren't doing me much favour either. There was some awesome cart driving going on though!

Bob, from Chemguys I got the citrus wash, the non-scratch mit and the 6pack of microfibre cloths. The material feels great, sure better then any of the cheap crap I've used in the past on my cars. I'll have to do an order for myself once we get through the Christmas/New Years period.

Good stuff Jack, i find it quite FLexciting!

Interested to see the power plug. Is it a USA type fitting or Australian? I have some adaptors at home if it is a USA plug.

Looks great Peter, my Concourse 900 with lake county pads and scholl polish is under the Xmas tree so will need to wait a few more days to try it on my daily drive and then on my 66 coupe when it arrives mid Jan.

Well done Peter. Future Mustang shows will be blinding with the increased levels of shine!
Out of curiosity, which combination of pad/polish did you use?

Evan.

Wow Peter - you'd have to be happy with that. Looks fantastic.
Hey Evan - I was thinking the same today - the level of shine at Mustang get-togethers is going to increase  enormously.
Cheers,
Bob

Hello, started with S3 gold with orange pad on a couple of spots of heavy orange peel.
The rest of the car with S3 gold with a white pad.
Finished off with S30+ with a black pad.
Car was painted in the States about 5 years ago (typical US paint job 6/10)
It is the hardest 2 pac paint I have ever seen.
The Gent at waxit recommended this procedure and it worked a treat and was relatively easy.
Very helpful people at Waxit (highly recommended)
Sealed with Mothers canuba wax (great product in my opinion)
The picture tells the story.

Hi Peter, You have done an excellent Polishing job. That vert sure looks sweet. :thumb:

Both Evan and yourself have tried the Scholl polish now and the results speak for themselves. Impressive stuff.

Interested in hearing from others too about their Polishing deeds. It seems there were quite a few Polishing Kits underneath Christmas Trees.

Justang, Did your Flex arrive in time?

Ash, Did you manage to get those Brake Hoses sorted?

Hi Jack, Glad to see your Flex is all good. :thumb:

Hmmm.... Christmas. Was all going very well until late yesterday arvo. Michelle has had a bit of a relapse and spent today in bed. Bugger! Consequently we are still at home. Oh well... at least it has given me time to build a disability ramp for mum. She has been waiting for me to build it for a couple of months. Job done.

So it is now a day by day proposition whether we manage to head down the South East or not. You might have the place to yourselves. EDIT- Michelle has recovered so we are headed down on Saturday morning. :thumb:

You just reminded me to get the phone out of the car. It is now inside and on charge.
Give me a call in a little while if you like.

Ash, Did you manage to get those Brake Hoses sorted?

Brakes sorted with new brake line, pads, fluid and swapped out the M/C with a newer one while the system was apart. They work well now  :thumb:

Unfortunately, the car doesn't. Had it die again on me 40k's out of town on the weekend and needed to tow it home again. Spent Monday trying to find the issue and ended up fixing one and finally getting a fault code on another. Got a replacement part sorted this morning, should be on its way now from Adelaide. See if that fixes it, maybe.... we'll see.

3 issues in a week, two tows and no car with A/C to take our kids in has been an issue. The public holidays haven't helped but we had 40 degree days and having no reliable A/C car is unacceptable. Did a bit of car shopping and today I picked up this. Only 112k, full service history, very well looked after for its age and the 4.6 V8 is very nice. By the time I clean up the Territory and sell it, I should be close to doing a clean swap, maybe a little cash out of pocket but that's all good. Plus my wife is really happy to be back in a V8  :burnout:

Which now brings me to this. I brought this home to look at polishing the Territory up. Will need to hit up one of the online stores and get some pads and polishes. Unfortunately some time back the car got a wash with a dirty sponge, I think it will clean up well but it's going to take a little bit of elbow grease.

Any experience with one of these? It's all new to me but look forward to the learning curve.

Hi Ash, Glad to see you bit the bullet. The Explorers are seriously good cars. :thumb: Plush inside with more than ample power. Jeremy had a white Explorer which he traded for the Diesel Territory.
You wrote once before that your Territory has given you lots of good service, but unreliability cannot be tolerated, especially when your wife and children are out and about  in the car.

I do not know anything about the DeWalt Polisher, but being a rotary a bit of practice is called for on an old panel before tackling the Territory. Just spread the Polish on the lowest speed, then crank it up to about 3,000 RPM to do the Polishing. Maybe read about the DeWalt at this Link -

Thanks, Rocket  :thumb: If I had the funds, I would have got a current Territory. We had a really good run with ours and it always ticked all the boxes for us. Maybe down the track we'll get into another. For now though we are officially an all American car household

Thanks for the tip on the DeWalt. Old panels I have plenty of. Is there a preference in colour that would help the dive in the deep end? Would a lighter or darker colour be better to see what I am doing right or wrong? At the moment I have some dark green, maroon, white and also silver. I guess I could try a little bit on them all.

You Yankee You!

The Dark Green will be the best to practice on. Darker colours really show the blemishes.

If you can`t get all of the swirl marks off with a one step polish, there is a wax called " butter wet wax" available from Chemical Guys for $19.95

 http://www.chemguys.com.au/BUTTER_WET_WAX_p/wac_104_16.htm

The wax has some fillers in it which will help to hide any remaining swirl marks - Temporarily  ( If you catch my drift ) Lasts about a month.

On the subject of waxes, I have had some Duragloss Aqua Wax in the garage for a couple of years. After i washed the Lightning Strike Territory a couple of days ago, decided to try it out. The idea is to spray it on as you dry each panel. Very, very easy way to wax a car. Could not believe how good the Territory looked afterwards. Big tick for this stuff.
