OK. Will order the six of them.

Reserved so far
Rocket 1
Dale 1
Scedd1 ( Steve )  1
That leaves 3 more - first in best dressed.

Here is the Link for those interested -
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-710W-Dual-Action-Machine-Car-Polisher-Buffer-Sander/465867090.html

By ordering the 6 - cost will be $116.53. Pick up from Pooraka SA or will post interstate or country for you as long as you pay for the postage.

Jeremy, Glad to hear from you. Sounds like you are enjoying SEMA     Mum said to say hi to Monique

The polishing machine you are talking about is the Flex XC 3401 VRG. But be careful. The Americans use a different power system. So the Flex we need is called the Export model which is 230 volt. If they have it at SEMA can you grab me one and i will fix you up when you return. Will put the Link from mwizz ( Mark ) up shortly.

Edit - here is the Link from Mark -
http://www.toolking.com/flex-xc3401vrgcee-variable-speed-dual-action-orbital-polisher-230-volt#

Your blue Mach1 is finished. Here are the photos i took earlier -

Rocket ( aka Dad ).
G/day mate. Can you put me down for 1 as well if possible??. I will work out how to get it down to me in the South East. or pick up when I'm in town next.
Let me know.
cheers

The princess has a year old SS Commodore in the new Chlorophyll colour (blue in the sun, green in the shade).
It lives in the garage and has 5,000kms on the clock.
We will keep it for about 5 years/ 25,000kms.
Would this sealant be suitable for the factory paint, which seems to be a top quality job to me?
My main aim is to avoid washing and polishing, as i am a lazy bastard, even though i am getting the fancy polisher.
Steve

Steve, Yes... The Sealant will protect your paint - for a while. But remember, Sealants do wear out after a few months and require topping up. I would give the Jetseal 109 a top up of 2 coats every 6 months. Application of a Sealant will make it much easier to wash the car, but a weekly wash is still required. I wonder if a 3 monthly Wax would be better for you - less work. There is a fantastic Wax called DP MaxWax available from Waxit.com.au for about $40 Easy on, easy off. Not much work for a great finish.

Thanks Rocket will definitely take it on board but just to confirm what is the main differences when polishing old paint and a car which has just been painted.

Normally I am a Meguirs person who goes with the hand polishing of vehicle were I can go around the car up to 5 times including the washing & drying

Herman

You must be very fit Herman!
I came across this gem while checking out good polishes to use by hand  " Personally, i have trouble moving my hand at over 1,000 RPM - so i use a polishing machine ".

Differences in polishing old or new paint?
If the old paint is oxidised , generally it would require a more aggressive first step compound. Something like Menzerna PF 1000 or Meguiars ScratchX, or Meguiuars Megs105 . After that first step i would still use my 3 favourites Menzerna PF 2500, SF4000 and SF4500 .

Of course you need to be a bit careful. You do not know how thin the old paint is, so it is wise to do a test using the rule of thumb, start with a light polish and see how it goes, then work up to the aggressive polish/ pad combinations till you find the right combo that will do the job in the quickest time.

You will find that Acrylic Lacqeur paints without clear coat will leave a lot of paint on your polish applicator, but with 2 pak paints you will not see any paint on your applicator.

Regarding best polishes to use by hand - Gretschem suggests TCut, Farecla G6, Juice Swirl remover. Others i have seen recommended via a google search which have a slight abrasive and easy to work by hand are Megs no. 80 followed by Megs no.81.   Megs 105 followed by Megs 206.    Zaino ZPC.    Duragloss DG501 is another.

Great thread, got my bottle of jetseal109 last week and keen to give it a go rather then the 3 coats of wax like normal.

I recommend Dodo Juice born slippy, its a concentrate you mix up to use as lube when claying. With the other off the shelf products I have used found myself needing to reapply before finished working the area. But with born slippy you can work away and it doesn't dissipate.

Purple is the go for polishing up those chrome bumpers on our mustangs.

Tend to get most my stuff from http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/ as they have a big range, prices are fair and being on the opposite side of the country their delivery is quick.
Cheers

Back in 1970 you washed your car and applied Turtle Wax, that was it for most of us.

Now there's a whole world of products and applications.

Dale, A bit of creative editing and all is well.

Seriously though, I have a hunch that these type of machines all come out of the same factory. Creative colour changes and badge engineering.

In any case i will offer a concrete warranty - once they are off our concrete - all yours for better or worse.

Does that mean you are becoming a convert to machine polishing? :hi:

Received notification that the 6 polishing machines were shipped today. Hopefully they will be here mid next week. Question now is - which car to try one out on. Maybe Moniques Convertible or Jeremys Fastback.
Then again, might be best to try it out on a Holden first
