Hi Matt
Great pics and write-up.
Any reason you don't install the starter before the engine goes back in?  Thought it would be easier doing it that way.
How did venolia go with matching the pistons (you needed two newies didn't you?).
Cheers

Cant recall about the pistons and rings...after 3 days chasing the F#@kers , Angelo took over and sorted it for me.

As for starter...we were just to busy chasing the important stuff that we didnt get the starter in time...no biggy as we will fit it when we get some time on the lift to fit the exhaust and Z bar...all that stuff

As for the heads having to be swapped.....after inspecting this boss

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.513469452012280.133387.100000476899783&type=3

We realised that the open threaded head should have had a screw in welsh plug in its place and the bracket fits up in a different position. Had 2 Boss 302 gurus look at it prior us pullin those heads and they were stumped also. Its not everyday you rebuild a B2 motor so its no biggy....cant be expected to know everything about every motor ford built but....unless ya have a go, you will never learn

We just got back from a week on the road and while I was away, I called into Gregs house (the guy I bought the K code GT Im building)
http://www.facebook.com/ShelbyGTK950R?ref=hl

He works at Ford for the past 35 years and his shed is full of brand new NOS ford parts...not just cra9....were talkin Shelby, Boss, K code....all high end stuff....brand new gear boxes, carbies, distributors, EVERYTHING

I managed to buy 2 brand new shelby GT350 carbies...still in plastic and the box, a brand new K code 63-5 water pump....the early alloy one, and a boss 302 distributor that is date code correct for Mark

Even though we just built a dummie 68 one...we now have the real deal

So its off to the office today to get back to fabricating those illusive (physically impossible) twin turbo headers for the K code and all newt week were back on the boss and another Eleanor that needs to be finished

Keep you posted

Matt

Looking good Matt. Can't wait to see the next instalment of Operation Blue Book.

Mark, your car is with Sherm @ Sunstate getting the side glass fitted and I think on Wednesday next its having the new front screen fitted

Couldnt wait on the holley so I sent it off to Orlando to American carby

Wanted to get that carby sorted...Said it was a 2 week turn around @ roughly $275 plus shipping & Tax

Trying to nail out the "K OTIC" build to get that off the lift, and by that time the Eleanor will be back and yours from Sherm at the same time...Still have Terrys 429CJ sitting there ......need more ME's

Im guessing the Eleanor will be back on Friday so I can quickly nail that out while yours it at Sherms if thats the case

By the way...your display arrived at our office yesterday...should fit perfectly on the back seat

Thanks Matt, did you send the carby parts that were posted to you with the carby? You were going to post pics of those parts.

A couple of things have happened since the last update so I thought I would post some pics. Matt has cleaned up the shaker unit ready to go on when the carby is rebuilt. This work was done a couple of weeks ago. Lookig forward to the next installment.

I think the OK stamp should only appear on the drivers side cover.

Looking good. Maybe ready for striping soon.

Mwizz, did Matt sandblast that shaker? I need to repaint mine and wasn't sure if it was a good idea to blast it but that looks fine. Do you have any details of the paint that should be used?

Hi MachAttack, not quite sure but I am sure that Matt will post what he did with it. There are a couple of other pics that go with this one to show further preparation which I will post up next.

Quick update and some pics

Sherm managed to get the new door glass in but like allways...this bit is broke or that bit needs to be replaced or the guy has used the wrong bit here or the guy has the wrong parts to put back together.

Sherm ordered some new (correct) door locks and were in need of the rods inside the door before we can fit the door panels. Sherm is trying to hunt a set down. Front glass was ordered but Sherm hasnt got it fitted yet. Might try an push him into getting that done in the next few days so its one less thing I have to worry about and we can get the chrome trim on. (which I think is missing one side piece)
