Its funny how quick kids learn to drive a car, yet fail to understand a lawnmower.

Congrats on a very sweet ride.  I bet the long wait was well worth it now.  You should be right with the seat belts.  I got my fastback rego'd in NSW several years ago and the lap sash belts were not an issue.
Cheers

Do you mean to say lap belts?

Lap-sash belts run across the lap and from shoulder to hip   .... like a sash.

Well, it was a long day for me, on Friday a had a temporary tooth placed onto my rear molar in preparation for a crown.  Last night while flossing the thing falls out exposing the shaved tooth underneath.

There wasn't any pain, it was sensitive though so instead of going to pick up my car, my first trip this morning is straight back to the dentist to get another one put on.  It's pressed hard against my gum and really annoying, can't wait for the crown.

Anyway I get home and start ringing towing companies to get my car from warehouse to workshop. I got a couple of quotes in the $200 area plus if they had to wait they wanted to charge more i.e. $275.

I kept ringing got one for $120 but he can't do it today, another for $165 and 2 for $140.  One of the last two sounded the best, as soon as I said Port Botany and Mustang he said 'where WSI?' had to go with my gut with that one and good to get a few numbers just in case one's busy.

Best to get all the paperwork done at the warehouse first, try to get them to have your car ready as possible and then ring the towing company.

The guy at the warehouse said all was ready so I call, then a truck turns up blocks the door to pick up a bike and they still had to move pallets from behind my car to get access (see below).

Anyway to give credit where it's due, the towie only charged $140 and stuck and around for a while without charging extra. He's an older guy, straight up and knew the guys in the warehouse on first name basis so if you need a tow you can give Ed from H.Reid & Sons a call 0418 618 905

Enough ramble, time for pics.

It's now at SMS getting ready for rego.

Good on you mate. I remember when my 66 arrived home in my drive way. It was like having a first date and the first wash was sometihing you had to do alone... Was that too much info....  It's a pretty car you have there and I bet you will enjoy having it in your toy collection.

Ouch is the right word. It doesn't make a lot of sense regarding the rear belts but I guess your mechanic has no choice but to follow the rules no matter how silly they are. I hope your mum gets well soon.

I'd be taking anything that requires an engineers cert out. The parts are cheap and by the looks of it, they are all unboltable parts. You can pick up a full kit like this for under $300 plus $170 post.

http://www.laurelmountainmustang.com/products/1968-1973-mustang-master-front-suspension-kit

Take the seat belts out as well, fix the oil leak and just get that rego plate on the car. Like you said, you can put all the parts back on again and you know you will never have an issue with pink slip. Save yourself a few grand. That's what I'd be doing but I'd take a short cut like that any day to save that kind of money. But maybe that's just me.

Sorry to hear about your Mum too, it's not easy to see the one who is always there if you need anything, needing help herself. But like you said, the rest is pretty insignificant when it comes to family.

I understand, you have to do what you have to do. At least you will have that bit of paper to cover what has been done.

It's just the way it goes sometimes.

I just want the thing registered a.s.a.p. Had issues with the Torana being unregistered many years ago and got booked 3 times driving unreg. and uninsured (you have to pay a fine for each). It was a few hundred bucks back then, today it's over $1,000.

One time the cop booked me while I was on the way to a rego inspection, 3 blocks short from it.  I didn't have a side mirror and he said it wouldn't pass. I had to have the car towed home.

Its a bit of a bummer about the Rego costs but thems the breaks - it wont mean anything when you're cruising around with a big smile on your face:cool:

As for the tooth - will it doesnt affect your music / vocals?

Hope your mum gets better soon mate.

No, they pinged me for a steam clean here in Sydney, I also had it cleaned in L.A. After the journey from Denver it picked up a lot of dirt.

This is how it looked when it arrived in L.A.

I thought no way would I be able to pass quarantine with it looking like that so got them to clean it.

This is it after they cleaned it in L.A.
