Bringing in parts cars?
« on: April 13, 2012, 11:17:25 am »
Hello
Currently reviewing the possibility of bringing in a 64 to 70 parts car. I understand you don't need a import approval when the car is not being rego'd, is this correct?
I was told you cannot bring a car in for parts by my customs broker but this does not seam correct?
Anyone here brought in a parts car?
Thanks in advance :)

It cannot be complete, usually has to be dismantled or cut up. Why wouldn't you spend the extra $$ on an approval anyway, you may be able to sell the shell with tags and approval to someone completing a large resto.

I would get the approval anyway
The shipping is still going to cost the same amount of money.
The only difference is the waiting time for the approval, on average 30 days and Approval cost about $60

Unless the car doesn't have a title, I guess...
