Costs involved in importing a newer Mustang?
« on: June 08, 2012, 07:55:10 pm »
Hey guys, just after a bit of info.

I have imported a couple of early Mustangs and know the costs involved there, but what costs are involved in importing a new one?

I know I will have to pay the standard $3-4k for import, and about $40k to convert to RHD, but are there any other costs such as Luxury Car Tax, GST or some other hidden fees?

I'm looking at spending about AU$40k on the car.

Cheers

http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/importing_vehicles/general/index.aspx

Have a read of this, quite apart from the cost there is some pre-req's to secure approval.

Thanks, had a good read and no info on the costs other than to contact Customs.

Thanks dalex for helping point me in the right direction.
