Help needed with polish marks
« on: February 14, 2012, 08:52:10 pm »
Hey I polished the bullbar on the 4WD with purple polish the other day & it came up great however the buffer splashed some on my muzzy park next to it. When I wiped it off the muzzy I've discovered it has stained the springtime yellow with tiny purplish blotches. I've tried polishing it out but to no luck as the stain seems to have etched in.
Any ideas?

I'm kicking myself for being so stupid leaving the muzzy uncovered !

I've tried using the clay bar followed by mothers two step polish but doesn't achieve anything besides getting me sh#ttier with myself.

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers Bren

I'm surprised that polish didn't remove it. Maybe some wax & grease remover?

Evan.

Not immediately helpful but maybe contact the supplier/distributor or an infoline number on the packaging?  I know there are some car detailing forums, maybe Google a couple of them and see if someone has some suggestions. It's got to be a familiar problem.

Perhaps it might need a go with a cutting compound.

hey guys, tried the claybar, grease & wax remover & a fine cutting paste but it all had no effect on the blemish. It looks like it has etched the paint but it is smooth to touch.
I thought maybe wet & dry but I'm not game, anybody know a detailing guru in Brissy that may have the goods?

cheers Bren

What type of paint is it, if its base/clear, you may be able to use a fine wet and dry 1500, very carefully.
