Finally landed the new Mach 1

Hey Guys,

Sold the white 65 coupe back in July to a bloke just up the road and planned a trip to the USA to buy a new toy in January of 2012... Well... the money burning in my pocket was too much to handle and I couldnt make it last not even 6 months to Pomona at the end of January.

Bought myself a new mustang from Oregon, had it moved to California and shipped on over - didnt take too long to land and picked it up Wednesday (about 6 weeks total).

Details:
1969 Mach 1 factory GT Optioned (original log book too)
all matching numbers and original condition!
4spd manual teamed to a 351w with traction lock rear!

All the goodies still on it including:
rim blow steering wheel
Firestone tyres
original GT head lights
all original panels (from what i can see)
centre console
rear fold down seat
boot even has stamp on the inside from the bloke assembling it in the factory!

Marti report breaks her down to one of 2 to this spec.

Absolutely stoked with her, great condition for the $$ I landed it for and can't wait to get stuck in for the strip down and bring her back to original glory (same colour as dads too so we will be matching)!!!  Only aftermarket mods include a flowmaster exhaust and edelbrock 650 carb, engine bay has already been re-conditioned back to stock and looks very clean but don't have any pics to show.

More photos will come with the build - will start another thread but can't wait to get her done and on the road... Still going to Pomona next month, may see if I can stretch the finances to buy another toy.

cheers,
Keith.

thanks guys!!!

Honestly could just put the belts in and do the tweaks to get it engineered and on the road ... BUT - paint needs an overhaul so thought may as well pull it down and give it a descent freshen up!

Already pulled together an inventory of parts to order, nothing too major - mainly the prep and paint that will take the most of our time.  Add to that dad and my busy work schedules and out of the country for over a month and it will be April by the time its finished!

Very nice..  :thumb:  I was talking to our club president the other night who imports alot  of cars and he was saying it is very hard to find Mach 1s now.  The prices on these toys are on the way up.

I've been looking for months, spending an ungodly amount of time trawling on line classifieds, and still no luck. Maybe I'm just too fussy.... or looking in the wrong places.

Nice work Keith, congratulations.

I don't think I've seen a Mach 1 with GT options before, someone wanted a loaded car. Good score! :thumb:
