I think there is confusion with the term 'replica'.  Here we all know it to mean 'mock-up' or clone.

Yes a Hertz or Shelby clone is fine but I think a 'replica car' or kit cars is what DOTARS has the issue with.

i.e. Porsche shell on Volkswagen chassis.

I guess the same would go for those 250 GTO replica Ferraris on Datsun chassis.
