importing cars into australia

Hello from Canada, I am hoping someone has gone through the process I am about to embark on.... I am moving to Brisbane from Canada and would like to bring over my 2 mustangs. The 86 convertible is running but the 68 is still in pieces, how easy is it to get parts for Mustangs in Australia? is it a case that you get most of parts from the US? What are the restrictions for left hand drive vehicles, will I have to get them modified to right hand? Does anyone have experience with the import process, fees, headaches etc.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Peter

I too am living overseas at the moment. (USA), and was looking to bring back my 2003 mustang, but I think with import duty, conversion prices, and compliance it is going to cost upwards of $20,000 AU.
Bringing an older mustang back is better, as you don't have to get it converted.
