RHD conversions and Importing info for Mustangs
« on: July 21, 2005, 02:46:18 am »
Hi guys just joined the forums, being an Aussie myself currently living in Canada and I was wondering what the options are for getting RHD conversions done for a 2001 GT I have and will be importing to Oz later on this year. I will be in Sydney but am not to concerned about where I get conversion done as I would really like a top quality job done, apparently Vic and Qld have conversion companies but none in Sydney???....

Also if anyone has any info at all on their personally imported late model 99-03 Mustangs that would be a bonus also

Any advice will be very welcomed

Cheers- Marty

Welcome aboard Marty, I cant help with anything definate but Ford were selling new RHD Mustangs around that model cant be sure of the year. Anyway Tickford was the company Ford used for the conversions. These should be good as they were sold here new with full factory warranty.

nassi- From what I hear being out of touch myself here in Canada for last few years Tickford is now FPV and likely do not do individule work like what I would require... so far looking like 'Crossover' are my best bet as they seem to reputed as doing best stang conversions in Aus from what I have been able to findout by reading all the Ford Oz related forums I can find....

xponyx- not sure about 'Crossover' in Qld, to best of my knowledge they only have the one factory located in Vic. (Fern Tree Gulley) heres there website- http://www.sportsluxurycars.com.au/
I had heard about a mob doing stang conversions in Qld but have not been able to track them down or find out any more info on them?  I would like to find a couple of options re- conversions but no luck so far!! looking like 'Crossover' is the only real option?

Marty, the Mustang scene is far better than this website would suggest. I believe this will be looked at very soon.
Regards Vortech, there is a guy here "Geoff Meakins" (cant remember his business name), 0407 951 187. He has a 65 Fastback with one fitted as his demo, nice car. Pictured on this site, with the Mustang aircraft.
Cant speak for general service as I tend to do my own. As for parts I get most Mustang specific stuff from over east, our local suppliers while being very nice people are just too expensive.
