Well, well, I am certainly back, it seems we have some wound up members, sorry for the delay, however given it was the close down of the season, gala presentations and a quick trip to the US, lost baggage, laptop included, time has been very short. Well, I did call Mainline last Tuesday before leaving for the US for a comment on the letter as posted by Gordon (boss427) but it has not been returned as yet. So let me comment on the letter and demands made.

[/b]
So, in summary, the graph results in your provided example are based on torque at the drive roller shaft, and not at the wheels, axle or engine.

I have already commented above on this –  The contact patch is called “at the wheels”, The Torque figure is overstated due to gear ratio’s both Gearbox and Diff, wheel diameter, tyre growth, etc. The fact remains that the torque figure at the wheels as noted in any chassis dyno is a claimed at the wheels. Your Dyno software gives the same information.

[/b] ........................I hope this clears up matters, and lets the members make up their own minds as to who to support...........Darryl :hand:

So by that statement you are agreeing with me that a true at the wheel torque figure is not possible due do gear ratios etc, just remember i never mentioned anything about mathimatical equations ill leave that to you professors all i have ever said a dyno can not give a true  torque figure and you have just agreed with me by that statement,
thank you no appology needed

Engine dynos do give a accurate torque reading and then calculte H/P

Man alive.......

Hope your travelling experiences improve...I dont have any such problems travelling to Tasmania.

We will need 2 weeks to take all that in.

Still no real reasoning as how you have exceptionaly high torque over your HP except about 6 lines of wheels, axles, driveline all too much to take in after a few lemonades.

Have you got a secret squirel puffer under the dash,Because today and any other day without a puffer thats exceptionaly larger torque V HP.

Maybe FPR need that engine to help them knock over 888 in 2012....thats a Series winner day in day out.

All the quoting has as much warmth as a lovely birthday card from the mother inlaw.:shocked::birthday::sick:

:sarcasm::sarcasm:

Off now Im all worked up again :hand:  99 :hand::tissue::tissue:

I have heard on the grape vine that Daryl could be interested in putting up his Blackjack a drag race in a wager against mine. Could be interesting!!!

Well Darryl certainly is up to his old tricks on this forum.

Unfortunately Darryl has been "bending" the truth for many years.

A few FACTS:

1. Darryl is NOT - nor has ever been a mechanic or engine builder.

2. Darryl NEVER worked in the 70's on the development of the L34 Torana in any way, shape or form - At the time he was working at Dustings of Burwood in Melbourne as a Spare Parts Salesman.

2. Darryl has NEVER worked for ANY overseas F1/Porsche Cup/NASCAR team - During the 80's he worked installing Stripe Kits on Cars in Melbourne through a Company called Scotchline.

3. In the article in issue number 5 of AMFM mag his history/experience was a complete fabrication.

4. Darryl has never been involved with Supercar Racing - apart from being a spectator.

I hope this "Clarifies" the truth.

Regards,

I allways suspected this but did't have any proof.
I hope what you say is true, or you could be setting yourself up for slander.

I really hate pissing competitions on forums.

What is good and has always been a truthful line, "when the flag drops, the BS stops."  So lets make sure the line up is done properly and at an organised legal event with the rules and set up agreed to by both parties well prior to the event.

Truthsayer, if that is your first post.....  I assume its an assumed log in name?

This has been good as there is one thing I have learnt.
If derived torque is used, the actual Power and Torque trace on the graph will cross each other at 5252 engine RPM  This is due to the Power (hp) = Torque (ftlbs) x RPM (actual engine speed)   / 5252. This means each indidual engine has the same torque and horsepower at 5252 RPM.
Also at 5252RPM  "Volumetric Eficiancy" in each indidual engine is at its highest reading. I have learnt something new.
It goes to show you can still learn something new every day.
