Would appreciate some help please, Running a 347 stroker with C4 trick kit, car starts ok and runs well normally,  however  when u stop it and if in park ( gets like pre ignition) and it won’t start and drains the battery  trying to kick it back over ?

If however you stop it in drive and under load it will restart ? your feedback would be great :feedback:

Hey Rob.

sorry to hear it. Sounds like a weird problem ... is it tranny related ?

cheers,
Frank.

Timing advanced too far? Flooding? Idling too high?

Evan.

Like others said....check your timing, idle speed and idle mixture.
Set your total timing to not more than 36 degrees with vacuum advance blocked off. If you are running a healthy cam(which you should be with a 347) disconnect vacuum advance and get your distributor recurved.
I assume you are running a Holley carby. Set your idle mixture by turning the adjuster screw on either side of the metering block in clockwise until runs rough then turn it out half turn. This is just a rough guide and should be done by someone familiar to tune them.

Are you are saying you can start it with the auto in Drive, that would seem very odd, and dangerous as well.

One other thing that can cause run on is you have regular fuel in a higher compression engine.
