Well, whilst keeping in contact with the owner of this vehicle prior to me (had it for about 30 years) so the majority of its life, he was kind enough to send me some of the original photos of the car in the early days, and another couple of it once it was restored briefly in the mid 90's

So enjoy as i did!

Steve

I'm not doubting you have a '67, but what happened to the side scoop fillets on the back guards near the door? It looks like they've been removed to make it look like a '68.

The quarters were replaced in the the early years with a half quater piece if shit. Cut along the top corner of the panel. The guy that did it ecplained as a 15 yr old he cut the quarters off a coupe cheap as chips but they used to have the vents in them. Definatley a 67. I have the full history on it :) was heavily drag raced and definatly shows it but its a good fun history. Main reason i didnt want a GT or anything special with numbers is because of the mods i intend on doing when the body is finished!

Its great you are taking on such a project but some friendly advice. You need to practice your welding because you have nill penetration on the top section of your torque box.

If that hood is fibreglass you may want to lay it flat.  I hear that when they are upright, the fibreglass will sag over time and you'll end up with a bow in your hood; not that they don't bow anyway with hood pins and opening/closing them improperly.

Have you ever noticed how a lot of the yanks like to have their muscle cars sitting up high like a 4WD?

The photo is quite old though. Back in the 80's the trend in Aus. was raising the rear end.

That's pretty cool getting original photos of the car from so long agin, especially of an original owner, it's a great way of knowing the history of the vehicle, even if it's only briefly through a few photos.

Cheers

As a petrol head from the 80's it was all about dropping the front into the weeds...
