I spoke to the US Muscle organiser of the photoshoot.
There are a few issues we need to think about.
1) We need a factory premises for a number of reasons. He is looking into the models situation for me. I would think we would need around 4 or 5 models. They need a place to get changed, sit down, etc. Also they and us will need a toilet throughout the day. The premises where my work is free but visually its a shithole from behind and the front is busy and has no parking. It would not do the day any justice and would be a waste. We need a decent size care park with access to power and a toilet.
2) Using a public place also has issues. You are not permitted to rock up at a public area and start a photoshoot day. Councils must be informed and then it enters into the system and next thing you know we need permtis, insurances, etc, etc. Also, if we start to make a spectacle somewhere public and numbers start to pick up purely due to curiosity, how are we going to control a crowd?
3) We need to keep numbers to a maximum of 12. Otherwise, we will quickly run out of time for proper photos of each car and have to rush things - of which we need to avoid.
4) If members taking there cars there for photos for the day are paying money for photos and models, we need to keep spectator numbers to a minimum to be fair to the members forking out the doe and keep the day safe. We dont need the word to spread and have 10 cars and 88 people. If people don't agree then please feel free in debating the point with me and others on this thread. I am not saying every person there must have a car, but active members would be welcome but mates and onlookers there on word of mouth may make the models uncomfortable and to bigger crowd in that sort of atmosphere poses its own issues.
At the minute, without a premises, we are stuck and can't move forward.
I am currently checking if we can get a place locked in. This is not as simple as a task as it sounds. We would need their premises, access to inside of their place and use of their facilities, and hope they trust we will leave it cleaner than the day before as they may not want to give up a Sunday to be there also.
Kind Regards,
John
