Got a chance to work on the Stang again this weekend, some more updates. I hope these are the correct width, if not let me know CPU and I'll correct them :thumb:

Tail light panel welded in, trunk lid on to check gaps.

Same again

Replaced the trunk panels that support the fuel tank, the old ones were pretty beaten up and covered in bog, right side.

Left side

Replaced the toeboard and floorpan on the drivers side, not quite finished yet

And finished the diff,

So that's it, big weekend, It's amazing how quickly the drivers side floor went in having done the passengers side, my brother-in-law/retired panel beater is a very fastidious man and I'm learning heaps.

Cheers Mike

Hi Digger, I have a 69 R code in Meadowlark yellow which is restored to original. If you need any pictures to see how you want her to look, let me know. The colour combination is awesome, much better than I thought it would be.

Hey Rick,

Would love to see those photos, u2u sent. Much appreciated. I have already bought ppg deltron Candy Apple Red to paint it with but who knows? I am warming to Meadowlark Yellow, pretty rare. It's a driver so I am not too fussed. The shaker was the clincher for me. I can see the light t the end now and am keen on ramping up progress.

Thanks chopmgw, love your thread, very inspiring. When I have the car to show in Adelaide would be keen on swapping stories. It might be a while though. Much more work to do.

With your new discs you got Mike, were they just for the front or did you get some rears too? I know you've already rebuilt the rear diff with drums so that may have already answered my question but I was curious to ask as I'd like to put discs on the back of my car.

I love seeing restos to this level.

I just wish I had the skill and patience to do it myself.

Congrats - will be a great car when finished.

Cheers,
Frank.

Just for the front Ash, as they were an option from the factory. Being in SA and LHD I can only install factory options. Hence the original set for the front.

Thanks Frank,

It definately does take patience but I'm sure it will be worth in the end.

Isn't that funny. I know you guys have some relaxed rules compared ours but that one seems to be the other way round.

Thanks Guys,

The encouragement is appreciated. I'm lucky in that I have a mate and brother in law that helps me out. Very lucky. But it's gonna be a good car and I want it to be solid so I can drive it like I stole it and have some fun. A long as I don't get busted under SA hoon laws :burnout:. No seriously too much to risk. :thumb:

Remember I'm not paying much for the body work, so it seems like a lot but it's not a great outlay, just damn good body work from my bro. He is fastidious.
Cheers

meadowlark yellow, bottom of the barrel?

Just my 2 cents worth.

I would'nt have thought so.Very much along the lines of Warwick Yellow on HK GTS Monaros and Jasmine Yellow on A9X Torana's.I quite like it ..and not -yet another blue .........or red one.:tissue:

Hey jbrucem1,

Yes they did and I am very happy, casting codes are all good. Very rebuildable too. I'll post pics as I go. I'll have to clear the blasting cabinet of spiders for the stub axles and send off the rotors for a touch up. Thanks very much. Great to get a genuine set here in Aus. They will be looking brand new in no time.

Cheers Mate

Ha ha, thanks mate,

It would be unique. I've bought the paint original ppg (ditzler) candy apple red already.  In Deltron Global Finish one coat gloss, it's a driver and not getting sold soon so.........,

Those rims are top notch thanks very much.

Mine is Calypso Coral but was originally Light Ivy Yellow-pretty rare.-Would I go original colour in a resto?.nah.........I'd prolly stick with the red .

Thanks 70 mach 1,

That made me laugh.

Some more pics

The firewall was pushed in so we did the good old heat shrink to bring it back rather than just bog it up.

The first thing to replace is the battery box, acid spillage etc. The plate is original but the guard above definately needed to be replaced.
