I was just reading on the 428 registry about the performer RPM intake actually making the shaker sit 3/8 inch higher. I need to do like you said, get in and get some pics with the shaker off. Something isn't right here but I'm sure it wont be too much.

The bonnet stickers are peeling and flaking in some spots so they all need to come off and get redone where I'll go back to the 69 black out style.

It was a 3.00:1 on the Marti report but the PO put the 3.91:1 diff in. He built it to run at his local drag strip but it was closed before he finished the car.

I'm a few hours north of Sydney.

Hi Ash,

Again, congratulations, the car looks cool!

In regards to the problem of the Shaker Scoop not sitting correctly, I haven't gone back and looked at all of the previous post's, however here are somethings you may want look at...

1. Check to see if the rear gear box mount bracket and rubber are as per the original spec?

2. What's the tail shaft angle look like going along the lines of the transmission tunnel to the back of the vehicle (check to see how the rear pinion angle looks)?

3. Check to see underneath if the Shaker's bottom base (air cleaner) has not been cut down to allow the fitment of the Edelbrock manifold? Make sure it looks parallel...

Cheers,

Ash, Are you bringing it to The Entrance show in a couple of weeks? I would love to see it. I live on the Central coast and used John and Lincoln a couple of times myself - very handy picking up from John's place than the docks in Sydney.

As a side, I have a thing with number plates (previously had MY-69-MI and just ordered MCH-169 for my new girl) If you are after something special, let me know and I will play around on the RTA site for something - no catches, just a hobby. eg: ST-69-NG was one I looked at nut decided against.

I've been given a few tips from some other members to do just this. I'll get some good shots from underneath and see that the cross member isn't an auto one. Will also remove the shaker and see what is going on there.

I wish I could be at the show, Dave. But I can't see me getting to any of those for quite a while unfortunately.  I have so much on my plate at the moment I think I'll only get to tinker with it every so often and I want it to be spot on before it hits the road. I would like to catch up with some other local Mustang owners once it is registered. I didn't know you were on the Central Coast.

John and Lincoln were fantastic to deal with, the entire time. I would recommend them to anyone. And picking up from John's house was great.

I'm going to use my person plates on the Mustang. I've had these since I was 18 so will transfer them from my ute to the CJ. I thought about getting some specific Mustang plates, something like CJ-428 but they weren't available. Thanks for the offer though Dave!
These are my plates here

Sweet, had a play anyway. RCJ-428, MCH-428, BLU-428, MI-69-CJ, CJ-428-R (bit pricey) are all available. Looking forward to seeing your car one day.

Just picked up a stable partner for the CJ:thumb:

This is for the wife and kids as a run around car. The kids will have the coolest car dropping them off to school each day! :smile02:

Cheers! I know its only a little car but for just over 5k, I'm pretty happy!

Not just yet, am waiting on a reply from one. Transport prices sure have gone up though since I shifted my CJ in feb. This is only going a fraction of the distance and is costing 70% of what I paid before.

I just submitted the import application so now I get to play the waiting game with you :smile01:

Pity he couldn't use his magic carpet to move the car - would've been a lot quicker !

I used Magic carpet transport to move my CJ, no camels though

http://www.magiccarpetautotransport.com/

Apart from getting in and enjoying these little 6 cylinders, what's some must do's to do to them? A brake booster and some front discs will be on the list.

Well done Ash, looks like a great car you have there.
I would definetly explore the wedge for the shaker idea.

Thanks for the post, one of the best reads and best photos.

Cheers mate.

Thanks a lot guys! :thumb: Busting to get out in it but its still way off that happening. Damn life getting in the way and been too busy!!:soap:

I'm having all kinds of fun right now with a trucking company. They said they would arrive in the morning to pick up the 66. It is now 6:30pm and still no truck. The guy I bought it off is cool and waiting but he can't wait around for ever. Especially when we have been told several times they are a few hours away.
