Has anybody had the Bathurst Globe mags on their 71 - 73? or have any pics of what they look like.

Do tyres deteriorate if they sit around if you have another set of mags that you want to swap around on your car from time to time?

Can't help you with the first question but unfortunately it's a big "yes" for the second, they can be time bombs. Interesting vide on tyres deteriorating even without use here:

From memory it is 6 years and tyres are stuffed (prob should watch the above link but don't have time) There is a build time stamp on the side wall.

Some clarification please. The story seems to say that if they are new and not used for 6 years then they are dangerous but if they have been used and are 6 years or more old, they should be okay. Is this correct? or is it 6 years regardless of whether they have been used.

mwizz I wouldn't know but a professional tyre guy told me that tyres actually release oils when they are used which helps to keep the rubber supple and last longer than if they are unused. That may explain it? Like I said, I really don't know but I do check the date stamps on tyres now, especially old Mustangs etc.
