Late Model Conversion
« on: November 14, 2010, 12:37:21 pm »
Hi guys,
I am interested in importing a 2010/2011 Mustang for myself.  The procedure seems pretty straight forward but one question I cant find an answer to.  I am a registered panel beater and I am confident I can do the conversion myself with a UK supplied kit.

Is this legal?  Assuming I use only licensed tradesmen will I be able to register it?  My understanding is so long as the RTA Engineer signs it off its all OK.

Thanks in advance.

2010/11 Models would have to be Complianced and therefore can only be converted by someone who holds a Low Volume Compliance Licence for that particular car model.
Compliance and Conversion costs are around $30 to 40,000.

Hi,
Thanks.  So you need a particular license?  Is that something anyone can apply for?

I believe it is a long involved process & costly. Well it was a few years ago.
