Marti report dates look odd
« on: June 19, 2010, 10:18:32 am »
Hi All, looking at a Marti for a 70 I see that the sold date is over a year after production. I wonder if car was a dealer demo or is the more likely scenario the Marti is wrong. Any thoughts?

I have seen cars that sat at dealers longer than that.

However send Kevin an email confirming it is not a typo.

I got the wrong Marti report emailed initially and had to resend my cars details and demand the correct details be sent via airmail which I got a couple of weeks later. They do make mistakes!:soap:
Happy with the final report though!:thumb:

I just emailed Marti auto and they responded right away and stated;

"The date is correct. Some cars sit on dealer lots for a long time. This is one of those."

cheers

You would probably find that the vehicle was the dealer principal's car or the sales manager's car and it was eventually sold off as a used car.

I have always wondered about the reliability of the "Date Sold" info in the marti reports and it would be interesting to know just what the actual source of this date was.  I expect it always comes from the dealer reports so I suspect there might be quite a few inaccuracies and these dates may be a bit "rubbery".

In any event sale date is not that important as long as it's consistent with the build date.

i met a guy online that hadhis car serialized the same day as mine. our cars were only 80 something units apart. he shared his date info, and it was pretty interesting. even though his car was serialised before mine, it was finished a week after mine, but sold before mine... lol...

i will find the info, and post it. was very interesting to see the timeline of a very closely serialised car.
