Not 100% sure, the FE series bigblock will go straight in. The Boss 429 required tower mods but is wider than a standard 429/460.

I would assume so, the 460 fits Aussie XR Falcons onwards, which would be similar to a 67 engine bay.

Front rails on mustang are closer than a falcon, even on 67 on cars, this is why you cant use a stock falcon drag link on a RHD conversion, not sure about the towers though.

I pulled a 460 out of mine - they JUST fit without modification but they're huge and heavy. you need different engine mounts (an aftermarket copy of the Boss 429's mounts) but you can buy headers etc for this setup.

Wouldn't you be better off building a 408 stroker or similar ?

Your handling will be terrible what that huge lump of iron in the front.

Cheers,
Frank.

If you were only going to fit a 429/460ci Big Block, you'd be mad not to consider fitting a 418ci Windsor, or 460ci Windsor based engine, as they are a much better thing.
If you were going to fit a 532ci big block, or a 600ci plus tall deck block, then go for it!
Weight over the front wheels is not really an issue, unless you're a Wheels magazine Journo....

big block is a thought only because got 1 sitting in the shed , got a top loader behind it too mmmmmm
385's are actually only about 32 kg heavier than an Fe , enough I know but alloy heads would cut that back a bit and yes it would be a stroker. Also have a Cleveland so could stroke that as well dunno which way to go decisions, decisions , maybe a street boss. It's all in the future anyway just have to make up my mind which way to go and your input is much appreciated guy's so keep it commin.
