power steering
« on: August 27, 2005, 08:26:25 pm »
ok, here is the newest of my problems.
My 65 convertible has power steering, however it is the old "ram type"
I am looking for the , much easier power steering box.
The ram style is very difficult to get hoses for and is very tightly squeezed underneath. I am constantly busting hoses as they are rubbing and there is simply not enough room to re route them.
So the question is: where can I buy a complete power steering box setup, and how much should I expect to pay.
Thanks in advance, guys

Dave,

If you are going to stay lhd why not look at RRS's rack and pinion steering. It is 'bolt in' with no fabrication required and they use an XF p/s pump. The racks are available for both right and left hand drive.

From speaking to people and looking at opinions from this and other forums it is seems to be a good bit of kit. If you go to there website www.rrs-online.com.au they will send you out a dvd and catalogue.

Regards,

Andrew
