Chris

That would be nice.
Always good to chat with people at the same stage.
My car is back in primer for a second go.

Hoping to see it with colour before Xmas.
Then comes the massive job of remembering how everything goes back.

Got my seats back from the trimmers.

Pretty pleased with them.

I am jealous now, I wish mine would be ready for paint by xmas  , you are doing a great job and being able to do most of the work it frees up some coin for the little extras that some times miss out

What Orange were you considering

Flower power red (calypso coral, poppy red, special orange, competition orange).
Different names depending on the year.
All the same paint code.

Same colour on the 2012 mustang

Well not as far as u !
Now I know why we pay the painters big bucks.
Preparing a car for paint is a hell of a lot of work.
Im at the wet rub stage at the moment.
Got all next week off so hopefully going to make good progress.
Been slowly amassing parts ( more arrived this week).
Before starting the wet rub

Noob progress.
Ive done as much as I can, with my limited knowledge, as far as paint preparation goes.
Time to hand her on to a proffesional now.
I have something lined up and currently waiting on a "bring her on down, ur next" type call.
Hoping thats going to be in the next month or so.

Found the paint prep a bit of a nightmare to be honest.
Lot of confusion with differing opinions on products and techniques.
I know why painters get the big bucks now ! :smile02:

Also been busy elsewhere.
Had my vent frames rechromed and fitted new seals and handles.
About half the price of repros and I get the warm and fuzzies knowing their they are original. Win/Win
Im chuffed with them.

Had my bolt and nuts treated and cadmium coated.
Came up nice.

Parts list is probaly about 90% complete now.
Some new arrivals this week.

Boxes of parts piling up all over the house. More in the garage !

Also now an offical member of MOCSA.
Hope to catch up with some fellow members in the near future:cheers:

Hi Chomgw, How is it progressing at the moment?

The 1/4 vent window frames look superb. Can i ask who did them for you and how much it cost? Need to get mine done on the 68 coupe as they are looking a little pitted.

Rocket.

The vent windows were done by Chromemasters
2/42 Stanbell rd , Sals. 0410 337898.
I was so impressed with the with the vent windows that I also had my qtr windows done. Cost me $150 a pair which is less than half of replacement cost.
Ive since left a few other grill bits and pieces with him.
Also nice knowing I retain the original parts.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe Ive got this far.

Gone as far as I can go with paint prep.
Sent her off to a panel man/painter this week for a few touch ups and a once over, then paint.

Have had some second thoughts recently regarding colour.
Various colour schemes going through my head.
Guess thats normal.

Fingers crossed, I`ll see her again before xmas.

Hi Michael, Yes - It is normal to change your mind on colour about 100 times.

Is Mick doing the job for you?

Hope you keep the photos coming.... and Merry Christmas - great Christmas present for you.:thumb:
