LOL
Such a stirrer !

Well some progress made.
More boxes of parts arrived this week.
Getting ready for the final push !
Wasn't gonna post till a bit more progress had been made but I'm pretty stoked  to have gotten this far and had to share.
Car was painted last week and it is being reassembled this week.
Paint is 2k x 6 coats.
Dont think the DSLR settings (noob at that too) depicts the real colour.

Heres a couple of teaser pics.

Aint nothin wipin the smile off this dial this week :smile02:
I can smell oranges !

Thanks guys.
Parts list is almost complete with only some minor interior bits left to order.
I have 4 weeks off work after Friday so the plan is to get a lot of the reassembly work done in the break.
But there is always Murphys law to contend with.
Im aiming at getting a few cruises out of it before this season finishes.

Its funny how quick kids learn to drive a car, yet fail to understand a lawnmower.

Update time.
Been managing to get a bit done on the car during my summer break.
So much for relaxing coz I just cant at the moment.
This car has taken over my life !
Hoping to fire it up again in the next week or two.
So nice to to see some bling on the car even if its only minor stuff.

Thanks Rod.
I have passed on ur regards.
He has done a fantastic job and he wanted me to tell u he painted it dismantled.
I think there is some history there

Noob progress

Putting this girl back together is not a quick exercise.
U seasoned guys probably find it easy but if I have one regret, its not taking enough photos before dismantling. :banghead:
The old memory is not what it used to be !
I also wish that I had bought a complete bolt kit.
Its a nightmare trying to remember which bolt/screw/clip/nut went where.

The other thing I have learnt is how sh#t some repro mouldings are.

The trimmer came today to put the vinyl roof on.
Nice guy, did a good job and gave me a good price too.
(Sorry about the crappy iphone pics).

Plan is to get the roofliner and windows back in over the weekend. Posibly even the c-stripe on. then start on the interior.
Back to work next week so need to pull my finger out if Im going to get some summer cruises out of it.
Ordered my new wheels. 15 x 7 magnum 500`s.
Waiting for them to arrive.
Might be a while before the budget allows tyres though.
Its all coming together slowly (too slowly for me though). :-D
I can smell oranges !

Ha. I think it was a bit tongue in cheek.:smile01::smile01:

Guess he was talking about this car -

Story goes that Mick wanted to paint the car without using clear over the acrylic lacquer that i wanted to paint it with. But i always used clear because i like the extra gloss it gives. So i painted the car myself. My way - with the clear! Also wanted the body panels fitted to the car before it was painted.
No biggie really. Guess Mick is not going to forgive me.:smile01:
Oh - the paint job turned out fantastic!

Your car is coming together very quickly. It is NEVER easy putting these cars back together again. It always seems like one step forward and one step back. Forward planning is not easy because as you have no doubt found out - every time you go to do a job you find a particular part is either broken or you can`t find a nut or bolt. Always waiting on minor stuff to finish off a job.

You and Mick deserve a pat on the back! To come this far over such a short time is excellent work. The car is looking superb.

Cos I really like em and think it gives cars that old school look, wanted to be different and to tone down the orange.

Fairy nuff

I think you've definately toned it down nicely, I also think it looks great with the bonnet stripes.

What wheels you got in mind?

Too hot here in Adelaide today.
Sheltering under the air conditioner.
Thought I would post a few pics of my progress while Ive got the time.

As Rocket suggested, I keep getting held up. Find that Im missing this, or need this or forgot that, etc.
Doesnt help that I have 4 week old back order with CJ pony parts which includes my new rims.
Also, the old memory is not what it used to be.
Wished Id taken more photos when dismantling. :banghead:

Have pretty much finished installing all the exterior, apart from the front indicators so I have moved on to the interior.
Sorry about the crappy iphone pics.
Will get the dslr out when it cools down here (not happening soon) .

Plan is to hook up the battery later this week and see what works and what doesnt after the wiring reinstall.
Went back in pretty smoothly so my fingers are crossed.
I can smell oranges !
