yeah, i want to replicate my CA plate with WA plates, the only way to get the colours over here is with club plates. thats what originally gave me the idea.

unfortunately i don't think you can use the CA plates over here...

Kerry, do you have any Dick Waring Ford Plate surrounds? or can you find any over there? cheers

Don't worry about Lee, his car's in N.SW. anyway, I'm sure they'll look after him over there.:+

Ah, a worthy adversary :+

sorry guys, on lack of updates!

i have received a brief response from DPI and will be reviewing it tomorrow.

i still don't believe the club will be able to make a commitment to the plates until after the new committee has been elected and have had a bit of time to settle in.

i will let you know what we can fit on the plates and what styles / colours are available once i have had a read of the stuff they have sent through.

cheers, and thanks for the bump!

Tim

Ok, this may need some discussion at meetings as MOCWA is too long

might have to revert to "MOCA" , and have "Mustang owners club of Western Austraila" at the bottom (This will fit perfectly!)

:feedback:

The Plates would be available for minimum of 6 months with a minimum initial purchase of 30 plates. if more plates are sold, then they may extend the plate series in which the club would need to sell 10 plates a year to continue the series. its all up to DOT.

we will need significant support to pull this off!

Plates must be fit to CURRENTLY Registered vehicles only. you cannot 'reserve' or 'hold' these plates at the licencing department until your project car is registered.

to be continued...

Sounding pretty good Tim, but I'm not sure of the configuration. If we have MOCA, how many characters can we have after that?

If we go MOCA, we can fit 2 letters on Aluminium Plates - e.g. MOCA 00

or we can go Acrylic e.g. MOCA 0000

but would highly prefer Aluminium for a more original feel.

either way max Alpha or Numeric characters is limited to 4. (max 6 char - Aluminium, max 8 char - Acrylic)

Nothing to stop those with project cars getting the plates and putting them on their daily driver, then when their pony is registered switching them onto to their pony..
Members might be happier on their driver anyway, better than 'my other car is a mustang' sticker :)

i think the Club Plates would suit the falcon more, and customised plates on the project car. i am still undecided... but i do want at least 1 set. might try for 2 consecutive sets if i can get a second car for the wife before the plates come out.

i have a simple 3d model of a 68 coupe (must be on my old laptop).

i have drawn up an example club plate in ACAD, just gotta reproduce a sample logo, then i will put it onto my 3d model and see what it looks like.

i'll post the results. should be interesting...

i don't have one on hand right now.

if you have one, tim_morrison82@hotmail.com

i have mocked up the number plate, without logo, based on the DOT sketch on the application form. fonts are hand drawn based on wiki info imported into cad and roughly traced and tidied up. may not be 100% as i haven't compared the fonts to actual plates, just the data i found. its looking sweet so far!

the colours are up for debate when we get a little closer. but i was thinking a colour scheme similar to Californian black plates would be most desirable. the yellow shown is not a true representation of the colour used in those plates.

unfortunately yellow on black is not a current WA scheme. it may have been done in the past, but only way to get these days is with corporate, sports, club or fundraiser plates.

Could we do away with the 'A' altogether...
Leaving MOC with the small WA in the middle? Would that allow another numeric? And leave more space for the logo?

the logo is a set size. having an extra space won't make it any bigger.

with MOC can add another digit.

i am just in the process of trying to get a logo into cad....
