Hi, here is my story about Eleanor. This is very much a budget build as i dont have the finances to do a Chip Foose job. I plan on doing everything myself with my son (Liam) and my dad (Jim). I plan on doing everything myself except for the paint job which i believe should only be done by proffessionals. I wasnt going to post this build but having read another members build (stu67) it reminded me how similar the two storys are.

2 years ago on a rainy day i sat with Liam on a computer looking at cars. We came across what we thought was a good deal (Eleanor mustang). We went ahead and purchased it and this was the start of our saga. To be honest the guy selling it, (Ron) was extremely honest and open about what was needed to be done. Having not done to much restoration we thought it would be simple. It was a whole different story on its arrival. Wich my wife reminds me of every single day. Fortunatly my Dad is a retired panel beater (70 years of age) and enjoys helping me. Without him and the members of this site, i couldnt have got as far as i have done. This is what weve done so far.

First job was to replace rusty floor pans (Liam in picture)

Replaced inner aprons (my dad in photo)

The build from this picture looks like its going backwards

Horror story continues from its arrival back from soda blasting

I know there is still a lot of work to do, getting the gaps right on the doors, boot, etc. But with patience and time i hope to get this done in the near future. Hope to be putting a t-5 in shortly if anyones got one. Let me know. Thanks. Tony
